Ben Ludbrook wins first Victorian Cross Country Title. Pepplinkhouse takes out Griffiths Handicap

Ben Ludbrook won his first individual Victorian Cross Country Title on Saturday when he took out Round 2 of AV’s XCR season at St Anne’s Winery. Ludbrook came from the clouds over the finishing stages to take out a well deserved win in the U16 age group with Jack Diamond placing 10th. Ben Mornane continued his good form with a 4th placing and first Country athlete whilst Kayla Bridges placed 3rd Country athlete both in the U14 divisions.

In the local Griffiths Handicaps  Dean Pepplinkhouse put in a strong performance to wind back the clock and take out the 6km handicap from Dean Rossato with Frank Shevlin storming home in third. Riley Gratantaro won his first handicap event with a strong run in the 3km race with Sophie Ootes taking out the women’s division. IN the Novice ebvent Josh Canavan just shaded Patrick Snowden for the win.
